McCormick Tractors International Ltd. is a well-known manufacturer of agricultural machinery, particularly tractors. The roots of McCormick trace back to the 19th century with Cyrus McCormick, who invented the mechanical reaper in 1831. The McCormick brand evolved over the years and became part of the International Harvester Company (IHC) in 1902.
In 1985, Tenneco acquired the agricultural division of IHC, merging it with Case Corporation to form Case IH. However, the McCormick name continued as part of the legacy of quality tractors. The McCormick brand was revived in 2000 when ARGO SpA, an Italian company, acquired the rights to the name and began producing tractors under the McCormick brand once again.
